Although the 8•24 is identical to the 8•24GC card with respect to pixel & viewable color numbers, it has substantially slower redraw rates.

To use a Rev A 8•24 card with a 16 inch monitor, upgrade to Rev B ROMs.  With Rev B ROMs the 16 inch monitor is supported to 8-bits (256 colors).
